1. What this policy covers
This policy applies to information collected through this website, our newsletter, our online shop, and any other digital touchpoints we operate under the 1UP Esports brand. It does not cover services we link out to (Discord, Twitch, YouTube, etc.). Those services have their own privacy practices that you should review.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three buckets:
- Information you give us. Your name and email address when you subscribe to the newsletter or contact us through the site, plus anything you write into a message field.
- Information collected automatically. Standard web telemetry like browser type, operating system, pages visited, referring URL, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the date and time of each visit.
- Information from third-party services. Limited data from services we use to run the site, such as our email provider, analytics, and any payment processor used by the shop.
3. How we use your information
We use this information to:
- Send you the newsletter you signed up for and reply to messages you send us.
- Run, secure, and improve the site, including diagnosing problems and detecting abuse.
- Understand which pages and posts resonate so we can decide what to make next.
- Process orders and fulfil customer-service requests for the shop.
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the vendors we use to run the site (email delivery, hosting, analytics, payments), and only the minimum each vendor needs to do its job. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer like a merger or acquisition.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar small files to keep the site running and to measure how it’s used. Some cookies are essential (they keep your session alive while you navigate). Others are for analytics and can be disabled in your browser settings without breaking the site.
6. Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. You can ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or delete it. To make a request, email privacy@oneupesports.gg. We’ll respond within a reasonable time consistent with the laws that apply to you.
7. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you live in California, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act: the right to know what we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. We don’t sell personal information, but you can still exercise the other rights using the contact details above.
8. Children’s privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit and access controls on the systems that store it. No internet service is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute protection, but we take it seriously.
10. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as required by law. Newsletter subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe; contact-form messages are kept long enough to follow up and then archived or deleted.
11. Updates to this policy
We may revise this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site so you have a chance to review them before they take effect.
